Grapefruit Sculpin

96 BA score on Beer Advocate. 99 overall and 100 style scores on RateBeer.

Our Award-winning IPA, with a citrus twist.
Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Have always loved Sculpin from Ballast Point. Wanted to try Grapefruit Sculpin but could never find it.

Was able to find a bottle today at Savor Pint.

Earned the Happy Brew Year 2015 badge on Untappd.

Last night I earned the level 14 Heavy Weight Badge.

It has come to my attention that getting mild sauce on wings is a rather chick move. Why is it? Never been into spicy stuff. Salty stuff yes. Why be in pain from way too much spice? Plus I need my taste buds to be able to drink actual beer.

Know what a real chick move is?

Drinking PBR.

Here a chick is showing where PBR comes from. I do believes the  PBR is the root cause of blue waffles.

Plus PBR turns people into f'n hipsters.

Sure wish Spiderman could clear out the problem.

Hipsters also want to get people from work to go ice skating. What the hell am I, Canadian?

I will only go ice skating if I get to check people. Adults, old people, babies, I don't care, I will check you.

Certain people I will corner and whisper a certain phrase to them.

Damn straight I will go in dry. Do people want me to go in dry? No? Then I am not going ice skating.

I do have sex daily. Well, it's with myself. At least I'm having sex with somebody I love.

Plus this is what I think coworkers would dress like to go ice skating.

Really, really love Sculpin. It always seemed like Grapefruit Sculpin would come out, it was nowhere to be found. It's not like it is a rare beer.

Poured into a Jack Daniels glass. Decent head and lacing. Aroma is of grapefruit. Would there be any surprise to that? It does have grapefruit rind. Throw in some hops as well. Makes for one nice smelling beer. To me, it smells better than Sculpin. Taste is like Sculpin but with more grapefruit. Not really a bad thing. Actually liked this better than Sculpin. Worth seeking out.

My new fancypants beer glasses - Revolution Brewing Glasses

Got this from somebody at work the other day.

Why browsing Weiland's Market today with Mr. PBR, I found a glass for Anti-Hero. Thought there was going to be a throwdown over the glass. Mr. PBR doesn't know that I'm a brown belt in Hu Pflung Pu.

Revolution A Little Crazy Belgian Style Pale Ale

90 BA score on Beer Advocate. 93 overall and 97 style scores on RateBeer.

Pilsner malt base provides a nice toasty flavor with hints of caramel and enough fermentable sugar to make this a rather substantial beer.  Pilsner malt is the base with a little carapils and belgian caramunich. Hops in brewhouse are magnum, cascade and citra with a dryhop blend of citra and cascade. This drives home the aromas of fresh citrus rind to make this a very drinkable and extremely aromatic Belgian American Pale Ale.

Decided to check out Lucky's Market today after work. Wanted to see what it was like. Decided to check out the beer section. Found A Little Crazy in cans. Bought it even though I shouldn't have. Am low on money till payday and this purchase only makes that worse. But when I find good beer, I have to buy it. One thing with Lucky's Market is that it is a hipsters paradise. That doesn't make it a hippies paradise. Hipsters and Hippies are two completely different things. Overall impression with Lucky's is that I was not impressed. Can find better beer selections elsewhere.

It seemed like everyone was trying to be a f'n hipster in Lucky's. Just because something is organic doesn't make it better. Those damn hipsters acted like their shit don't stink. While they use the organic deodarant which makes them stink. Those scraggly beards make you look like a poor lumberjack.

For some reason hipsters love them some PBR. Why? If hipsters love organic crap so much, then why do they drink a beer with GMO corn and GMO corn syrup? Plus it tastes like shit. I know some people will be butthurt. So?

There are much better beers out there.

The only way to treat PBR.

PBR is basically goat piss.

One thing that Revolution does well (besides beer) is great graphics. Almost always eye catching. For some reason I always think of Jerry Garcia when I see the guy on the can. Have had this one before but I don't see it too often. I see Anti-Hero and the Eugene Porter quite a bit. Even see their Deep Wood series of beers more often than A Little Crazy.

A Little Crazy is a Belgian style pale ale. Pretty much Belgian or Belgian style beers will have a bit of a funk to them for the most part. Noticeable for the nice yeasty notes.

One thing I don't support are Belgian Waffles.

American waffles ain't good enough to eat with chicken? I think not! Belgian waffles are taking jobs from the hard working american waffles. Plus American waffles are tastier.

I will support Belgians in bikinis though.

The slogan of Belgian waffles.

Yes, I always think of Jerry Garcia when I see the guy on the can. At least the Grateful Dead did actual music.

Something that can't be said for Pantera.

The old guys from the Muppets know how bad Pantera are.

Hell, even Pantera knew they were the goat piss of heavy metal.

Typical Pantera fan.

Pantera is to metal as PBR is to beer.

Pantera take note.

Poured into a Stone Go To IPA glass. I felt dirty just doing that. Stone is boycott worthy. Decent one inch head with just alright lacing. Aroma has some yeasty like notes to it, like any Belgian style beer should. Some bread like malts along with citrus. Very nice aroma. Taste is very nice as well. Seems a bit herbal. Funky belgian yeast adds some nice spicy notes. Add in some citrus flavors. A little bit of banana is detectable. While not for everyone, it is for people that may just getting into Belgian style beers. It is an excellent gateway beer.

For those who will eat Belgian style waffles but won't drink a Belgian style beer:
