3 Floyds Yum Yum

90 BA score on Beer Advocate. 94 overall and 97 style scores on RateBeer.

Welcome to flavor country. This Pale Ale has just the right malt backbone to support an explosive juicy hop profile. Derived from a new blend of proprietary hops. We hope you’ll enjoy it. Cheers!

Style: American Session Ale
ABV 5.5% IBU 63

Recently picked up a bottle of 3 Floyds Yum Yum at Savor Pint. $3.99 for the bottle. Had a bottle of it back in October of 2014.

It was kind of like this when Savor Pint still had bottles left on Thursday. They posted on Facebook on Wednesday that they had bottles. Just expected for Savor to be out of it come Thursday.

It also make me scream yes when I have people get rid of me on things like Instagram, Facebook and Untappd. Always think it is funny. Those people must be offended by my awesomeness. Or my ability to read a book. Either or. Just figured those people are more content being awesomeless.

Do have a feeling they are into the goat urine beers. Those beers make people go bat s**t crazy.

This is my reaction to people who say they like beer but bring up the best one is something like PBR. Or Bud Light. Hell, Bud Light is better than PBR. At least Bud Light isn't one of those commie pinko beers like PBR is now.

Three Floyds isn't one of those beers that we get a ton of here in Columbus, Ohio. It's a shame. Do think if they upped their production and sent more beer this way, they could make a killing.

Memorial Day was recently observed this past week. That leads to me posting about Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

Here is the Soldiers Monument in the cemetery. The cemetery was started in 1867 and is still active.

There are quite a few religious symbols that could be found on the markers.

Sufisim Reorinted symbol

Latin Cross

There is this one.

Community of Christ symbol. It is a Latter Day Saints affiliated church.

The Buddhist wheel of righteousness

The angel Moroni of the Mormoms.

Christian Church

United Methodist Church

The Jewish Star Of David.

Epitaphs can range from a Princess Bride reference to a Larry the Cable Guy reference.

Louis Margolis. Boxed under the name Kayo Mars.

Tommy Heinrich was a baseball player. He was the last living teammate of Lou Gehrig.

 Oscar Field

 George Geiger

 Charles Taggart

 Henry Downs

John James

The above five are Medal of Honor recipients.

Edmund Magner played some games for the New York Yankees in 1911.

Joshua Dunbar.

Dunbar was the father of Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Paul Laurence Dunbar is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.

Irwin Anderson

Irwin Anderson was the father of author Sherwood Anderson.

Author of Winesburg, Ohio

There are quite a few other graves in Dayton National Cemetery that I will post on in the future.

I happen to like the Indian style graphics and writing on the bottle. Don't quite know what the graphics have to do with the name or the style of the beer.

Poured into a Dogfish Head IPA glass. Really nice head. Decent lacing. Some biscuit like malt is there in the aroma. Some lighter citrus. Floral hops. Smells like one of the better beers that I've had recently. Taste does have quite a few things going on. Some biscuit like malt is in the taste.Citrus, while not strong, can be tasted. Pleasant bitterness. Does finish a bit dry. Citrus doesn't cut the bitterness that much in Yum Yum. Not that is a bad thing. Bitterness makes the beer more tasty. Would have liked a bit more citrus to help cover up the malt. But hey, it is a 3 Floyds beer. Rated it 4 out of 5. It is a solid 4.
