Stone Enjoy By 04.20.17 IPA

The Enjoy By series has a 100 overall and 100 style scores on RateBeer. No official rating on Beer Advocate for this particular Enjoy By beer. 4.12 out of 5 on Untappd for Enjoy By 04.20,17 ipa.

Our all-important, hop-driven quest to deliver the most devastatingly fresh IPA on the planet facilitated a paradigm shift in 2012 with the launch of Stone Enjoy By IPA. Not only did we brew this beer with more than 10 different hops, we brewed it specifically NOT to last. Acclaimed for its groundbreakingly short shelf life, this intense double IPA brought forth a whole new concept of what constitutes “fresh” — guaranteeing fans the ultimate level of hoppiness. This devastatingly dank stash of our dry-hopped, hop-bursted double IPA won’t last long. Get your hands on this dank, golden beauty before everyone else gets wind of it.

Double IPA

12oz Six-Packs, 22oz Bottles & Draft

Hoppy, Tropical, Floral

37 Days

Nugget Super Galena Simcoe Delta Target Amarillo Cascade Galaxy Citra Nelson Sauvin Motueka & Helga

Bought a 6 pack of Stone Enjoy By 04.20.17 for $16.99 at Savor Pint. Picked it up today.

I would drink Enjoy By all the time if it wasn't so much for a 6 pack. $16.99 for a 6. Bomber bottles are almost $10.

Plus each Enjoy By beer are only available for a relatively short time.

At least Enjoy By is a beer in green packaging worth drinking. Compare it to Heineken. It has the word Heine in it.

Damn straight.

Everyone knows that Heineken drinkers enjoy the "wrestling" stylings of Doink the clown.

Their favorite wrestling stable is Doink and Dink..

While watching Doink the Clown wrestle, they enjoy pineapple on pizza.

Gordon Ramsay settles the whole pineapple on pizza debate.

Heineken drinkers do like their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Real beer drinkers enjoy true wrestlers.

A certain man by the name of Ric Flair.

We also know the greatest wrestling stable of all time as well.

Which leads me to state that this is the only Woo Tang that matters.

Of course Heineken lovers also drink Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Sometimes they get confused on how to open a beer.

They then move onto this.

They even try to use cucumbers.

They also need help on a toilet.

Only big complaint I have about Stone Enjoy By is the label, Same colors and typeface. Only thing that changes on the front is the date. Minor quibble though,

At least Stone does put a description on the bottles. Wish a lot of other beers had that. Sometimes I want to know about the beer right then. Don't always want to look up a beer to find out the description.

Had to pull out (giggity giggity) a certain glass. poured into my Stone Enjoy By 04.20.14 IPA glass. Bought it in (how ironical) in 2014 at Savor Growl. It was one of my last times I was as Savor Growl.

Decent head and lacing. As with other Enjoy By beers, aroma is really great. Plenty of citrus. Mainly grapefruit. Throw in some great pine scents. Swear that Enjoy By are the greatest smelling beers in the world.

As with other Enjoy By beers, 04.20.17 does not disappoint. Plenty of citrus notes to it. As with the aroma, grapefruit dominates. Add in some nice pine bitterness. Do think the citrus helps cut the bitterness quite a bit. It's a beer that I don't think the high ABV is noticeable when it is being consumed, More noticeable after standing up after drinking a couple of these. A little over an ounce of alcohol in each beer. Rated Stone Enjoy By 04.20.17 a 5 out of 5 on Untappd. Worth seeking out.

Available year-round in 12oz. bottles and on draft.

Recently bought a six pack of Victory HopDevil for $9.99. Wonder where I bought it? If you guessed Savor Pint, you would be wrong. I normally get my beer there, but this time I didn't. Actually bought this one at a Giant Eagle. Don't find Victory at Savor Pint anymore. Really don't see Victory beers a whole lot anywhere. The Giant Eagle had three different ones and that was about it for Victory.

Earned the Give The Devil His Due badge on Untappd.

After I checked into the 3rd one, earned the A Friend Of The Devil badge on Untappd.

Last Time I had HopDevil was in May of 2015 on draft at Savor Pint.

The only time I've had HopDevil in bottles before this was in May of 2013. Seems strange that I seem to try this beer about 2 years apart from each other. May 2013, then May 2015, then March 2017. Almost two years between this time and the previous time.

At least I'm more than willing to revisit HopDevil. Am not willing to revisit PBR town.

Who would want to visit PBR town with residents like this?

PBR town residents are a rather confused bunch.

Look at what they do at the supermarket.

They also think about the oddest things.

Even their dogs are confused.

Us actual beer drinkers have trained our dogs on how to deal with PBR town residents.

We also treat PBR swillers a bit different if we are playing baseball together.

Don't forget how we treat PBR town residents on the playground.

Don't know why I don't tend to see beers from Victory a whole lot anymore. Savor Pint at one point used to carry quite a bit of their product. Don't remember if Savor Growl carried a lot of Victory. Some of the beers that I've had from Victory I have liked. Some not quite so much. Tried to find their Moving Parts beers. Am a fan of DirtWolf as well.

Do like the colors and graphics on HopDevil. Not generic like a lot of other labels. Colors certainly are eye catching. Plus, who wouldn't want to try a beer by the name of HopDevil?

Poured into an IPA glass. About a half inch of head. Lacing could have been better. Aroma has plenty of spice to it. Throw in some pine and citrus as well. Seems like there is some bread like malt that is detectable. One of the best smelling beers that I've had lately.

Plenty of tastes going on in HopDevil. Some pleasant pine going on. Not as strong as the name of HopDevil would suggest there would be. Grapefruit like citrus is in there. Definite spice going on. Bit of bread like malt. Wouldn't say that one taste dominates the others. All are about equal. Just wish the citrus and the pine were a bit more forward. Still a very drinkable beer. Rated it 4 out of 5 on Untappd. Arguably, it could be a 4.25 or a 4.5 on Untappd.
