Three Floyds Necron 99 IPA

87 BA score on Beer Advocate. 94 overall and 92 style scores on RateBeer. 3.91 out of 5 on Untappd.

An interplanetary IPA

ABV 7.3% IBU 61

Recently picked up a 6 pack of Three Floyds Necron 99 from Savor Pint. $12.99 for the beer.

It seems that Savor Pint has been picking up quite a bit more Three Floyds beers than usual.

When reading the packaging, I thought it said Scotch style ale. Got confused when the website listed it as an IPA. Realized after a while, it is listed as a Scortch style ale.

Do like the colors and the graphics on the packaging. Just not a fan of how Three Floyds did the name of the beer. Had a little trouble reading it. Same thing with Yum Yum.

PBR drinkers don't care that much about other beers.

Perfect response to those PBR swilling coworkers.

Don't want to get involved in any of their "hobbies".

Like weddings they are involved in.

Or even the music they like.

Or their selfie taking.

No one wants to adopt a PBR drinker.

Of course I went back to Green Lawn Cemetery recently.

There is a 235 year old Bur Oak.

Dr. Benjamin Gard is technically the oldest grave at the cemetery. He is the the second overall burial, and first adult burial. The first burial, a child, is no longer at the cemetery.

Thomas Blakiston

Saw this one and knew I hadn't had it before. When I thought it was a "scotch style ale", I figured it was worth at least a try.

Since Three Floyds was always hard to find here, I had to get them, even when I wasn't a fan of the style.

Poured with a decent amount of head. Lacing was alright. Do get some slight citrus. Not enough citrus to determine any particular citrus. Some caramel malt.

Taste seems to have some light grapefruit to it. Wish it had more than what it does. Caramel like malt seems to be in there more than the citrus, Some very light bitterness towards the end. It's not one of my most favorite Three Floyds beers. Still a decent drinker. Rated it 3.75 out of 5.

Troegs Nimble Giant

Nimble Giant

“Without sway, there can be no balance.” Our Double IPA gracefully boasts grapefruit rind, pineapple and honeysuckle notes with a hint of earthy forest floor. Behold the wonder!

Recently bought a single 16 ounce can for $4.19. Got it at Savor Pint.

Looked right at it the other day I was in and didn't realize it. The guy that worked there actually pointed it out.

Earned two badges on Untappd with Nimble Giant.

earned the #findthegiant badge.

Also earned the level 24 New Brew Thursday badge. 120 different beers tried on 3 thursdays a month.

Don't actually see a lot of Troegs beers around. Might me a little of where I shop and also I don't seek out a ton of Troegs beers. Do like a lot of their product though,

PBR swillers only seek out PBR and other goat piss.

What do you expect out of people who were surprised about sandwiches.

PBR drinkers are the root of many a safety video.

Fits a lot of PBR drinkers.

Even the dogs of PBR swillers are a little special.

When I was talking to the guy at Savor Pint about the beer, he said he had tried it. He said even though he wasn't much of an IPA fan, he did think it was a little too smooth for a 9% ABV beer.

Poured into a Great Divide glass. Plenty of head. Lacing could have been better. Get plent of grapefruit and pineapple in the aroma.

Taste does have pineapple and grapefruit to it. Plenty of hops as well. Just enough malt to know its there. Doesn't seem like the alcohol is 9%. Nimble Giant could get dangerous with how smooth the alcohol is in it. Very much worth seeking out. Rated it 4.5 out of 5.
